The Association meets on Mondays 10.00 am to 12noon at the Uniting Church Hall, 41 Barton Street, Cobar.
Cobar Mobile Children's ServicesAddress DetailsPO Box 24 Contact DetailsName: Bridget Brookman DescriptionThe Cobar Mobile Children's Services provides high quality education programs for children between 0-12 years of age through playgroup sessions, as well as provide support, encouragement and development knowledge to families with children in rural/remote areas within the Cobar Shire. They also have a large variety of toys for hire, library books, parenting and child care workers/teachers resources. Cobar Mobile Children's Services offers five different types of play sessions:
All these are provided by qualified, experienced and friendly early childhood staff. In-town play sessions are held Mondays from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon at Cobar Mobile Children's Services' base situated at the corner of Harcourt and Lewis Streets (Cobar Youth & Fitness Centre building). Ngalii Preschool is also held at Cobar Mobile Children's Services' base on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. Kuppar Playgroup is held on Wednesdays from 9am to 11am at the Cobar Public School in Blakey Street. Cobar Mobile Children's Services offers bush play sessions to properties based within the Cobar Shire. Sessions run for a 3 hour period, providing children aged 0-12 years. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for families in isolated areas to socialise. Home Visits are available 1 day per month to visit families on a need basis to discuss the developmental needs and interests of children in their early years. Cobar Mobile Children's Services Toy Library, which contains an extensive range of educational toys and books to hire, is open Mondays 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and by appointment Tuesday to Friday.

In-Home Care is a form of child care where children can be cared for in the familiar environment at their own home by an approved educator. Cobar Outside of School Hours (COOSH) Service is a program to provide after school hours care for children from both local schools in Cobar. Their purpose is to create caring and inclusive communities and a just society. The Family Worker service is funded under Families NSW and is managed by Home-Start Western Area Inc. to build family and child resilience and to improve support to children and their families by integrating and enhancing access to a range of early childhood, education, health care, and family support services. This is a universal service for all families with children (pre-birth to 8 years), with some targeted services for vulnerable children and families. The Home-Start Family Worker service provides child centred; parent and child centred activities, home and community visiting, parent groups, community education and awareness events and parenting programs. The service aims to form partnerships with allied service. Time for Mums to Talk is held on the third Wednesday of the month, 10am to 12noon in the Uniting Church Hall, 41 Barton Street Cobar. The group provides an opportunity for mums to get together in a relaxed environment, share a cuppa and chat, meet other mums and share parenting stories. Regular guest speakers will present information on child development, safety, nutrition, self care etc. Age appropriate activities and resources are provided for children. The Home-Start Western Area Inc Board and Management meet quarterly.

The ICPA seeks to have all elements of education (cultural experiences, social contacts, participation in sport and other enriching activities) available for all children regardless of their home location. The Branch aims to meet quarterly usually on Fridays, 6.00 pm at the Empire Hotel, Barton Street, Cobar.
Kubby House Child Care CentreAddress Details31-33 Bourke Street PO Box 233 Contact DetailsName: Susannah Nankivell DescriptionKubby House Child Care Centre is a 29 place long day care centre. They are a community based centre which is overseen by a management committee consisting of volunteer community members and parents. The centre is open from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm weekdays for 49 weeks per year. They have an annual closure of 3 weeks at Christmas time. Working /studying parents, children at risk of harm and Aboriginal children have priority access to Kubby House. Their centre is made up of two rooms. A Toddler Room, which takes children aged between 6 weeks and 3 years of age, and a Preschool Room which takes children aged between 3 and 6 years of age. There are two staff members in the Preschool Room and three staff members in the Toddler Room to ensure staff/child ratios are adhered to at all times. Room Leaders develop weekly programs using the 'Early Year’s Learning Framework'. Programs are based on child initiated activities and staff documenting daily observations and communication with the parents through the 'daybook' and in children’s individual developmental records. They welcome people to call in and talk to them and inspect their service.
