Australia Day 2024 Award Winners

The Sports Person of the Year Award is awarded to a person or persons who have excelled in sport in the Cobar district communities, particularly in the past twelve months. 

Winner: Brianna Watson

The Services to Sport Award is awarded to a person or persons who have shown dedication to sport in the Cobar district communities, particularly in the past twelve months.

Winner: Robert Smith

The Community Event of the Year Award is awarded to an event which has demonstrated excellence in the Cobar District Communities on a voluntary basis, particularly in the past twelve months.

Winner: Festival of the Miners Ghost & Bands in the Bush

The Bossie Mitchell Services to the Community Award is awarded to a person or persons who have made a significant contribution to the Cobar district community on a voluntary basis.

Winners: Stephen Dutton

The Kerrigundi Award is awarded to a person or persons up to the age of 24 years who has excelled in sport at a level where they have represented the Cobar district or have been chosen to participate outside the Cobar district.

Winner: Zachary Boland

The Citizen of the Year Award is awarded to a person or persons who have had significant acheivements on a voluntary basis in the Cobar district communities, particulary in the past twelve months.

Winner: Colleen Boucher

The Young Citizen of the Year Award is awarded to a person or persons (up to the age of 24 years) who has had significant acheivements on a voluntary basis in the Cobar district communities, particulary in the past twelve months.

Winner: Braiden Jones

The Bossie Mitchell Services to the Community Award is awarded to a person or persons who have made a significant contribution to the Cobar district community on a voluntary basis.
