Council strives to create a positive and progressive community that everyone can enjoy living in and this is successfully achieved through the public participation of residents, businesses, and ratepayers.

Public Exhibition - Integrated Planning and Reporting documents

Council’s draft Integrated Planning and Reporting documents are now on public exhibition, and we invite community feedback before they are finalised. These key documents guide our long-term planning and service delivery, including:
▪ Delivery Program 2025–2029 – Council’s commitments for four years
▪ Long Term Financial Plan 2026–2036 – Outlines how Council will sustainably manage its finances over the next 10 years
▪ Operational Plan 2026–2027 – Actions, projects, and budgets for the next year. Includes Annual Statement of Revenue Policy and Fees and Charges

Active Transport Plan

Cobar Shire Council is preparing the Cobar Shire Active Transport Plan. The focus of the Plan is to provide with a strategy for the development of pedestrian and cycling routes and facilities with a focus on encouraging and increasing localised pedestrian and cyclist activity within Cobar. It is important that the Plan is guided by feedback and insight from anyone who uses, or would like to use the paths and crossings through Cobar region. If you walk, cycle use a motorised or non-motorised wheelchair, use a mobility scooter (or similar), or you would like to do any of these, we would like to gain your insight and ideas about:
▪ The overall quality of paths and suitability for users of all abilities
▪ Where to prioritise providing new / upgraded paths, crossings or cycle facilities
▪ Where to improve your safety (e.g. visibility, separation from cars, lower speeds, signage)
▪ Improve accessibility for everyone (e.g. access for prams, vision impairment and mobility aids etc.)
▪ Improve your comfort (e.g. shade, seating, water fountains, etc.).
▪ What would make using the path network easier, safer and more suitable for people of all abilities, including those with visible and invisible disability.
We are interested in gaining your insights and ideas about pedestrian and cycling paths and facilities, and whether there are any opportunities that would encourage you to walk and/or cycle more often. This includes any issues or challenges you may currently experience and whether you have any vision for the future of the area.
Please note, when we ask about pedestrians, we are also including the use of motorised and non-motorised wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Public Exhibition: Great Cobar Museum Collection Policy

Copies of the draft policy are available for inspection on Council’s website at www.cobar.nsw.gov.au or in hard copy at the Cobar Shire Council Administration Building.
Members of the public are invited to make a written submission outlining any comments or concerns for Council’s consideration.
Written submissions relating to the Great Cobar Museum Collection Policy will be received until 4.30pm on Friday, 24 April 2026.
