Kubby House Childcare Centre

Kubby House Childcare Centre

Kubby House Childcare Centre provides a quality play-based early learning program for up to 31 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, across two learning spaces, 0-3 years, and 3-5 years. We pride ourselves on the relationships we develop with children, families, and educators as we believe this is the foundation to providing quality learning experiences and outcomes for children.

Our program is child centered and is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. Each child’s current knowledge, strengths, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests are the foundation of our program. Our indoor-outdoor program provides children with the opportunity to engage in quality learning experiences with all age groups. Our educational team believes in the importance of older children scaffolding younger children’s learning. These opportunities allow children to act as leaders which develops creativity, empathy and kindness.

Through our play-based program and strong reciprocal relationships, our educational team have developed a transition to school program which focuses on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, resilience, social confidence, creativity and independent learning and agency. We are committed to providing a child safe culture through embedding the Office of the Children’s Guardian’s Child Safe Standards. These are a set of values and practices that guides the attitudes and behaviours of all educators.

In April 2023, Council commenced construction of a brand new Early Learning Centre (ELC) within the Ward Oval Precinct to meet the growing needs of our community, which has been architecturally designed specifically to exceed best practice early childhood education industry standards. Our new centre is expected to be open for business by June 2024, with the capacity to accommodate up to 88 children.
